The Connecticut Hospital Association (CHA) and its Patient Safety Organization (PSO) assist Connecticut’s hospitals in their safety and quality initiatives through the collection, aggregation, analysis, and processing of clinical and other information, facilitating collaboration among members, and providing value-added educational programs.
The PSO and Toward Excellence in Care (TEIC), CHA’s performance measurement system, are two of a growing number of services offered by CHA to provide acute care hospitals with comprehensive support for their quality improvement activities and response to regulatory requirements.
- TEIC is a Joint Commission-approved performance measurement system that transmits hospital data to both the Joint Commission and CMS for public reporting. TEIC, powered by the Quantros RRM™ Web-based application, offers hospitals practical tools to promote internal quality improvement efforts and benchmarking, while simultaneously meeting reporting obligations imposed by regulatory and accrediting bodies.
- The PSO brings together healthcare organizations that share a commitment to making system-wide improvements in quality and patient safety by improving the members’ knowledge of quality improvement methodologies, identifying evidence-based and best-demonstrated practices, providing leadership and resources for ongoing improvement activities, disseminating information and successful practices, and coordinating patient safety projects statewide.
