Connecticut's hospitals have a long, proud tradition of caring for people under the most dire of conditions.

Emergency preparedness was a hallmark of hospital operations long before the tragedies and turmoil that led to the current state of the world.  Before the September 11 terrorist attacks, and before the advent of bio terrorism as a constant threat, Connecticut's hospitals have always been there for the sick or the injured.

As the nation continues to mobilize against threats of terrorism (while still maintaining our readiness for more "traditional" emergencies) CHA and its members have been actively involved in Connecticut's emergency preparedness efforts.  Working in tandem with government agencies and other public health providers, Connecticut's hospitals play an important role in the ongoing evolution of the nation's emergency preparedness infrastructure.
