Medical Liability System Reform

Tort reform and the skyrocketing cost of medical liability premiums are major healthcare issues, as doctors find themselves unable to financially maintain certain elements of their practice, and hospitals - some of which are facing triple-digit premium increases - struggle to maintain patient access to services.

Reform of Connecticut's medical liability system, with the particular objective of addressing the increasing cost of medical liability insurance, is an advocacy priority for CHA.  The Association is working to advance measures that will stabilize and ultimately reduce medical liability insurance costs and promote predictability, efficiency, and fairness in medical malpractice litigation.
