DIRECTOR, EDUCATION AND SPONSORSHIP SERVICES

The Connecticut Hospital Association seeks a Director, Education and Sponsorship Services to lead and direct the development and implementation of educational programs and sponsor support plans. As a member-driven organization focused on advocacy, CHA will offer the Director a unique and exciting opportunity to design and deliver innovative, high quality, cost-effective education programs fully aligned with CHA’s advocacy objectives and the ongoing and emerging learning needs of its members.

Reporting to the Vice President, Administration and Communications, the Director will serve as an integral member of the CHA management team, working closely with colleagues in various functional areas to develop and manage all aspects of the Education and Sponsorship Services annual business plan including responsibility for program quality and financial goals. Identifying, cultivating, and supporting new and emerging sponsor relationships are essential components of the job.

The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills, and possess a strong customer service orientation. Additionally the right candidate will be a seasoned, creative professional with a track record of demonstrated success in curriculum planning and development for adult learners.

Qualified candidates will have a bachelor’s degree in education or related field; Masters or MBA preferred. Experience base should include several years in educational market research, event management, and formal program/curriculum development. EOE.

DIRECTOR, QUALITY AND PATENT SAFETY

The Connecticut Hospital Association (CHA) seeks an experienced healthcare leader. The Director, Quality and Patient Safety will assist in the development and execution of a wide variety of activities in support of CHA's Quality Improvement (QI) and Patient Safety (PS) initiatives. Will analyze and evaluate existing data and literature, and design new and innovative strategies for current and emerging QI and PS issues including data collection and analysis of clinical processes and outcomes; will participate in and facilitate QI and PS work groups, collaboratives, and other design teams; will coordinate the CHA Quality Manager and Infection Control Practitioner meeting groups. This position also requires significant interaction with hospital representatives, state regulators, state hospital association peers, and other quality improvement organizations to facilitate communication and represent Connecticut hospitals.

The preferred candidate will be Masters prepared with a specialization in public health, epidemiology, nursing education or other relevant healthcare discipline, along with substantial experience in a quality improvement and/or patient safety program, preferably in an acute care hospital; will have experience with quality improvement methodologies and training and public education campaigns. Will have a strong working knowledge of the healthcare industry and diagnostic classification schemes, as well as familiarity with inputs and results generated from SPSS or other statistical packages. Applicants must have a proven ability to foster strong customer and staff relationships; be poised and able to communicate with credibility and confidence. HEALTHCARE ANALYST

The Connecticut Hospital Association (CHA) seeks a Healthcare Analyst to assist in the research, development and implementation of Quality and Patient Safety data activities and initiatives.
This new position will assist in the collection and interpretation of data and related literature, provide decision support through data analysis and reporting, and communicate findings in text, graphs, tables and presentations to increase the value and utility of our Quality and Patient Safety activities to members and to enable CHA to more effectively use hospital utilization data in its hospital advocacy efforts.
Masters degree in public health with a concentration in epidemiology or a relevant discipline is highly desired, plus 2-5 years of related experience in epidemiological data analysis using SPSS or other similar statistical package, including working with complex longitudinal and patient-level data. Knowledge of quality improvement methodology a plus. Applicants should also have a strong working knowledge of the healthcare industry, as well as an understanding of reimbursement implications for hospitals resulting from Medicare and Medicaid policy changes. Experience with national and state benchmarking a plus, as well as diagnostic classification schemes and IPPS/OPPS rules.
Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential, as are organizational, interpersonal, presentation, critical thinking and Internet research skills.

WEB APPLICATIONS DEVELOPER/SYSTEMS DEVELOPER

Position available as a Web Applications Developer/Systems Developer working on the Data Services team to develop high performance applications utilizing web based technology to access MS SQL Server databases in a Microsoft development environment. Responsibilities include but are not limited to providing custom programming and technical support for a variety of end-users, including members and internal staff, developing and documenting data imports, report generation, modeling databases, and automating manual processes. Additional responsibilities include recommending and implementing best practices in the areas of system design, system maintenance, and process flow.
The preferred candidate will have 3-5 years experience in web content management, and in the design, development, implementation and maintenance of websites. A BA/BS degree in Digital Arts, Information Services and Technology or related discipline is preferred; graphic arts background helpful. An Association background is highly desirable but not required. Candidate must be proficient in HTML coding and web-based/desk-top publishing software such as Microsoft Publisher, Macromedia Contribute and Adobe Suite (PageMaker, Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash), as well as working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and SQL Server and Access. Applicants must have a proven ability to foster strong staff relationships, and have excellent written and oral communications, strong project management, interpersonal, presentation, and critical thinking skills.
